Lee Roy Chanoski, 73, of Weirton passed away at Valley Hospice in Steubenville Friday, June 8, 2018.
He was born April 15, 1945, in Steubenville, the son of the late Edward (Footie) and Elverda (Rock) Chanoski.
He was also preceded him in death by his brother, James (Sebo) Chanoski; and his beloved niece, Tammy Chanoski Nodianos.
Lee graduated from Catholic Central High School, Class of 1963. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the Vietnam War. He returned home and joined the Steubenville Police Department for a few years and the left to become a union laborer out of the Local #809 in Steubenville, where he retired after 25 years.
Surviving are his wife of 25 years, Christine Jorden Chanoski; son, Joe (Lisa) Chanoski of Weirton; stepson, Charles (Melissa) Och of Wheeling; four grandchildren, Jesse Daniel Casto of Wellsburg, Joey Chanoski, Chelsea and Dylan Och; his loving dog, Mieka; very special ex-daughter-in-law, Sandy Chanoski Margetko, who he truly loved of Temple, TX; brother, Ed (Sandy) Chanoski of Steubenville; father-in-law, Ralph “Red” Jorden of Wheeling; and several nieces and nephews.
Per Lee’s wishes, there will be no visitation or services. Mosti Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements for the family.
