Marian Turner

Marian “Kay” Turner, 78, of Brilliant, Ohio, passed away Friday June 8, 2018 at the Valley Hospice Care Center North in Steubenville, OH, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 3, 1939 in St. Bernice, IN, a daughter of the late Frank Sheets and Elsie (Colman) Board.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Jim” Turner, who passed away on August 20, 2016; an infant son, Terry Lee Turner; and a sister, Elizabeth Walters.

Kay was a cashier at the former Mull’s IGA Grocery Store and she was also an office manager at King Haven Assisted Living in Riverview, MI. She was a member of the Brilliant Christian Church and the Brilliant American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed quilting and crocheting.

Surviving are seven children, James (Kathy) Turner of Greenville, TX, Terri (Randy) Pierce of Mingo Junction, OH, David (Rebecca) Turner of Lakewood, OH, Jacqueline (Greig) McCoy of Rayland, OH, Steven (Cathy) Turner of Mingo Junction, OH, Frank Turner of Degraff, OH, and Michael (Michelle) Turner of Flat Rock, MI; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 712 Third St., Brilliant. On Tuesday there will be viewing at the Brilliant Christian Church from 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11 a.m. with Dr. Marc R. Tinstman, Minister, officiating. Interment will follow at New Alexandria Cemetery.
