Roberta Elizabeth Colliers, 89, departed this life on September 3, 2018, at Weirton Geriatric Center.
Roberta was born on November 29, 1928, in Brownton, WV, the daughter of Benjamin and Anna (Fuller) Turner. She was happily married to Henry Colliers.
Roberta was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Henry, and a son, David.
Henry and Roberta were devoted to one another and their children: Denise Colliers, Philadelphia, PA; Kim Jones, Weirton, WV; Lynne Clemont, Bethlehem, WV; Lynnette Wilks; Karen Gilliam; Donell Colliers, all of Weirton, WV; and Leslie Grant and her husband Steve, McKinney, TX.
Roberta has 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren: Aundrea Jackson, Ahmad Gilliam, Justin Jones, Rachelle Clemont, Larry Gilliam, Jr., Marion Gilliam, Janelle Jones, Donell Colliers, Jr., Michael Grant, Christopher Colliers, Daniel Grant, Cameron Colliers, Nasir Germain, Destiny Gilliam, Angeles Gilliam, Justis Jones, and Marea Jackson.
Roberta is survived by three siblings: Rev. Donald Turner, Pittsburgh, PA; Pastor Barbara Garlington, Pittsburgh, PA; and Mrs. Brenda Duncan, NY.
The following siblings preceeded Roberta in death: Lucille Brown, Harry Turner, Alice Sharp, Anna Mae Vick, Dorothy White, Beatrice Parks, Elnora Sanford, and David Turner.
Roberta graduated with honors from Lincoln High School, and graduated with a degree from Steubenville Business College. Roberta enjoyed years of worship at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She worked tirelessly at The Hub, GC Murphy, A & P, and other retail businesses, before serving the local community faithfully at the Dunbar Recreation Center.
Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Weirton, West Virginia. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Arranged by Gregory-Martin Funeral Home.
