Restaurant’s assistance appreciated
Some area families were able to have a happier Easter this year because of the work of our local Salvation Army and assistance from Weirton’s Bob Evans restaurant.
The Salvation Army works throughout the year to help many of our residents in need, and that work especially is noticed around the holidays. Extra food distributions and events are planned to try to ensure residents, who otherwise might not have much, will at least be able to enjoy a nice meal with their family.
This year, Weirton’s Bob Evans stepped up to lend a hand through the sale of paper Easter bunny decorations, which then were posted throughout the restaurant.
This is the first time the restaurant has contributed to such an effort in our community, and we’re sure it won’t be the last.
Through these efforts, Bob Evans was able to provide more than $1,100 worth of food, which was delivered to the Salvation Army the day before Easter.
We thank all the employees of Bob Evans for their effort, as well as all the residents who contributed to the fund drive.
Your efforts, we are certain, made a huge difference in the lives of many of our residents, and we know those meals were appreciated as those families gathered around the dinner table on Easter Sunday.
Our local charities have great support from our communities, whether it’s a food drive for the Community Bread Basket, a toy collection for the Salvation Army or a walk-a-thon for the United Way.
We are glad to see so many give of themselves to help those in need, and we are glad to see one more group step up to make those contributions.
