Attend a community concert
Summer is right around the corner, and as the weather begins to warm up many of our communities will begin to see a variety of outdoor activities for our residents to enjoy.
Chief among those is the annual summer concert series in a few of our towns and cities. These weekly attractions provide a chance to get outside, spend time with family and friends and listen to a great selection of music. And, let’s not forget, most of it is free of charge to those in attendance.
On Friday, Weirton will see the beginning of its second concert series of performances at the Weirton Event Center. This free series will take place almost every Friday at the site overlooking Municipal Plaza, and will kick off with performances by local band Legend and the “Sounds of Elvis.”
Those looking to check out this concert are being asked to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Community Bread Basket.
The rest of the concert series is set up as follows:
May 31:?40+ and Deja Vu, including a car show
June 7:?Three’s Company
June 14: Jill West and Blues Attack
June 21: Johnny Staats and the Delivery Boys, plus fireworks
- June 28: Easy Street and Bone Daddy
July 5: Wheeling Symphony plus fireworks
July 26: US Kids and Spinning Jenny
Aug. 2: The Joseph Sisters
Aug. 9: Beatlemagic
This is a great lineup, and we are sure many of our residents will find something they will enjoy.
We urge everyone to come out, check out the Weirton Event Center and spend an evening listening to the variety of music being made available to all of us through the efforts of the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau and their supporters.
