Wining and dining

What has quickly become one of Weirton’s biggest social events of the year will be returning this weekend, and there’s still some time to be a part of it.

The Wine and Dine at Williams will take place beginning at 6 p.m. at Williams Country Club and we hope to see the continued support from our community.

The event, now in its fourth year, was created by the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce as both an evening of fun, leisure and entertainment, and a fundraiser for some of the chamber’s more prominent programs.

Attendees will be able to relax, catch up with friends and sample various wines, beers and food. Carriage rides also will be available, as will the “Man Cave” area featuring cigars and liquors.

Proceeds from the Wine and Dine help with the upkeep of the community Christmas lights which line several of Weirton streets during the holiday season, as well as support the chamber’s educational programs, such as Leadership Weirton, Youth Leadership Weirton and the High School Business Symposium.

It is a great evening, and if you’re interested in attending and still haven’t gotten your tickets, we urge you to contact the chamber immediately.

We would like to thank the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce and Business Development Corp. for putting this great event together, the management and staff at Williams Country Club for all of their work, and, of course, the sponsors for making it all possible.

This year’s sponsors are Weirton Medical Center; Wine & Beverage Merchants; PS Marketing; WesBanco; Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort; Paper & Press Ink; Grae Con Construction; and the Fairfield Inn & Suites. Additional support is being provided by Weirton’s Wal-Mart Supercenter, which is donating the prize for a special drawing, and the Weirton Aaron’s store, which is providing furniture for the evening.

It’s a great event, a wonderful evening and a lot of fun. We hope to see you there.
