Congratulations young leaders

The future of any community is held in the hands of its youth.

Their knowledge, ideas, strengths and efforts will determine what will succeed or fail.

That is why our area is fortunate to have a program like Youth Leadership Weirton. Offered each year by the Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce, Youth Leadership Weirton provides sophomores from four area high schools – Weir, Madonna, Brooke and Oak Glen – with a taste of the business sector, while giving them better insight into teamwork, honesty and how to better understand themselves and others.

The 2014 class of Youth Leadership Weirton completed its program year on Tuesday, and we congratulate those 30 young men and women on all their accomplishments during the last several months.

The members of the Youth Leadership Weirton Class of 2014 are: Alexandra Arnott, Oak Glen; Lorenzo Basil, Madonna; Eva Bowser, Madonna; Katie Castelucci, Brooke; Caitlin Cuomo, Brooke; Richard Daddario, Madonna; Adam Davis, Madonna; Jenna Fonner, Madonna; Lauren Fritz, Brooke; Brette Geary, Brooke; Lydia Groves, Oak Glen; Mackenzie Jacobs, Oak Glen; Madison Juszczak, Oak Glen; Ryan Kirk, Weir; Raeann Lahita, Brooke; Mikaela Lenhart, Madonna; Daniel Mayfield, Weir; Dalton Minger, Brooke; Alicia Palmeri, Weir; Matthew Pavel, Weir; Stephanie Pennacchio, Weir; Toni Powell, Oak Glen; Bailey Roberts, Madonna; Katelynn Smith, Oak Glen; Matthew Stonebraker, Weir; Taylor Thompson, Madonna; Clarissa Tournay, Weir; Alexis Turner-Davis, Brooke; Christian White, Oak Glen; and Morgan Zopp, Brooke.
