Wheeling Symphony to play in the holiday

An appearance by the Wheeling Symphony has become just as much a part of Weirton’s Independence Day festivities as the community’s parade.

For 23 years, the symphony has come to Weirton to provide an evening of entertainment for our residents, performing a variety of Americana and pop culture selections for the hundreds who gather.

That tradition will continue this Thursday at 7:30 p.m. as the symphony returns to the Weirton Event Center, brought back through the efforts of the Weirton Community Foundation and through contributions by local residents and businesses.

Each year, the Wheeling Symphony takes its show on the road to celebrate our nation’s birth, and our area has been fortunate to be a part of that tour for so many years.

Joined this year by guest vocalist Donna Groom, this is sure to, once again, be a great event to be enjoyed by residents of all ages.

We thank the Wheeling Symphony for bringing their talents back to Weirton for this free community event, and encourage all of our area residents to come out and enjoy the evening.

Don’t forget to stick around after, either, as the show will be followed by a fireworks display over downtown Weirton.

It is certain to be a great evening as we begin our Independence Day celebrations.
