Support for veterans park appreciated

To the Editor,

The members of Brooke-Hancock County Veterans Park, Inc. would like to thank Cove Valley Lodge 380, I.O.O.F members Eric Young; David Schoolcraft; Dimitrios Akis; and Vasili Akis for volunteering to assist me with the maintenance of the veteran’s park.

We also want to thank David Minger and Jack Cox who offered assistance.

One last thank you goes to EAP Ind. of Atlasburg, Pa. for allowing us the use of equipment needed to clean the weeds from the bricks which have caused us trouble for many seasons.

A total of 58 man-hours over two days accomplished this mission. The fence and gates were repaired, flower beds were cleaned out, mulch was laid and bricks were cleaned. Family members and friends can now easily find their memorial bricks. As you know, the intent of the park has been and always will be for everyone to honor and remember.

Since the completion on 13 April 2013 I have received multiple compliments from veterans concerning the maintenance of the park and it’s only because of you.

I sincerely thank you for your support.

George Ash, President
