Wondering where God has gone
To the editor:
What God are we being governed by? When our Forefathers wrote the Constitution, they referred back to the Holy Bible for principles and ways to govern these United States. They left room for people of other religions other than Christianity, but never to government to establish one religion.
I believe they looked to the true living God, father and son (Jesus Christ) and Holy Spirit. Jesus came down from glory, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on Calvary’s cross, went back to heaven and even walked on this Earth for 40 days for hundreds to see to take our sins away. What a savior and Lord. Such love no other person has done.
We may choose to accept his finished work and walk in obedience to his word or go our own way. There is a time for everything. This seems to be a time that we are calling good evil and evil good. Remember what happened when God became angry with the nations in biblical times. One man’s sin caused a whole family and his entire belongings to be put to death and burned, and Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed by fire because of their pride and practicing unnatural ways with one another.
God not only has forgiveness for those who will repent (turn from their sin unto God) but deliverance. He loves so much. How long will God tolerate us when we continue to test him and take for granted his grace and mercy? Jesus said: “Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive and cleanse us from all unrighteousness! (1 John 1:9) God loves and we do love the sinner, but hate the sin. He paid a terrible price for us for our sins. There is only one sin he does not forgive and that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Actually there are two – the other is unbelief in the savior (Jesus Christ).
Open our eyes, Lord, that we may see, cleanse our hearts and let us dwell in love when you come again we may be ready to be with you.
