Greek Festival a success

To the Editor,

On behalf of Nick Latousakis, president of our church council, Nick Tranto, chairman of this year’s 26th Annual Greek Festival, held on July 18, 19, 20, 2013, and the entire All Saints Parish, we would like to thank everyone who joined us for this annual celebration of our spiritual heritage and ethnic Hellenic culture here in Weirton. Many of our guests commented positively on the food and festivities. And for the first time in many years, we sold out of certain “staples” of our festival by early Saturday evening.

For some of our loyal returning guests, this year was the first time some of them took the opportunity to visit the church worship space upstairs. Many were inspired with the unique beauty and significance of the architectural space and worship environment.

This festival would not have happened if it weren’t for the many volunteers from in and around Weirton who came to assist us, including children from the Weirton Christian Center and friends of the parish who came from out of town just to help us out those three days.

Thank you once again for supporting our efforts and partaking of our hospitality. We are truly blessed to be a part of the community spirit that exists in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia and the Upper Ohio Valley.
