ArcelorMittal thanks city for recycling support
To the Editor,
On Saturday, Sept. 14, ArcelorMittal Weirton was pleased to host our annual Community Recycling Day as a free service to our neighbors. We want to heartily thank the more than 280 residents who participated. The results were impressive. Altogether, we collected nearly 2,000 tires, 32 skids of e-waste, and several roll-offs full of other recyclable materials. All of these items will be safely recycled and diverted from going to a landfill. We also appreciate the partnership of the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s REAP program.
Sustainability and recycling are important values to us at ArcelorMittal Weirton, with our product – steel and tin – being the most recycled material in the world. ArcelorMittal’s operating philosophy is to produce safe, sustainable steel, and reflects our deep commitment to protecting and improving the environment in which we work and live. We are proud to be a part of a community that shares our commitment to sustainability.
Sincere thanks for your continued support.
