Residents will be missed

To the editor:

I have submitted my resignation as property manager at Heritage Village senior complex. My career started with Commonwealth Capital Corp. in November 1999. I oversaw the final phase of construction and passing all the necessary inspections for all licensing requirements. The first residents were Betty Crosier and Mary Lois Pender on March 26, 2000, and the complex was 100 percent leased by Dec. 21, 2000. Heritage Village has become a new home that has afforded many wonderful residents an improved independent and social life. Occupancy history has been 96 percent female who had lived in their homes for 45 to 50 years.

While I have always been a firm manager, I have made decisions with and by the residents. As a whole, we oversee Heritage Village. We consider ourselves as an island in the middle of the city as the complex is located on a wonderful piece of property.

The management name changed to Bethel Development Inc., and Dan Terlecki is the president. The home office remains in Dublin, Ohio. A special farewell to Dan, Roger Simmons and Lee Puckett for being my teammates for 13 years, and to Mike Lewis, my maintenance go-to guy, who is wonderful, knowledgeable, talented and has surpassed anything and everything I and the residents have thrown his way. I place a huge gold star above your head – you have contributed immensely to our success. I wish to extend my most heartfelt appreciation to all my prior residents and their families who have helped make us a community success.

Thanks to the service companies who were wonderful to work with and always quick to respond, and the No. 5 Steubenville fire station – there are not enough words or time to express the excellence of the team in providing service and information. To Ambulance Service Inc., every responder has been professional and caring. To the Steubenville Police department, while Heritage Village required little need of your services, when needed your officers were quick and effective. To all these men and women, I extend a gracious thank you. To Prime Time Senior Nutrition program, Heritage Home Health, Dixon Home Health, Associated Home Health, Tri-State Medical, St. Peters, Deacon Tom Medkie, a heartfelt thank you for all the services you provided to my residents.

To the Ohio Valley, you are my birthplace. I love the valley just as everyone born here, but the time has come for me to spread my wings. My health issues dictate the necessity for me to be with my children in West Palm Beach, Fla. My current residents, I love you all. So do not be afraid, Heritage Village has always been blessed with everyone who needs us and who we needed to complete our family. Our heavenly father brought my dream of safe, clean and calm housing to reality – He will not let this dream falter. Remember, you all set the precedence of your community. Lead on, my family.
