Jefferson County sets historical event

To the editor:

The Jefferson County Veterans Association will conduct its Veterans Day program at 3 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson County Veterans’ Museum at Fort Friendship.

The program will be emceed by Frank Santa, vice commander of the Jefferson County Veterans Association. This will be an outstanding program with guest speaker Marine Sgt Jack Ernest. Ernest is the founder of I Believe Ministries, has been inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame and is an eloquent speaker – those in attendance will be awed by his remarks.

He also will dedicate the Wall of Honor Memorial. This wall has been in the works for more than three years. Thanks to the cooperation from the Jefferson County commissioners and hard work by many volunteers, members of the Jefferson County Veterans Association, veterans and nonveterans, we are ready to dedicate the Wall of Honor. My sincere thanks to the project chair, Charlie Greene – his leadership is why this project is a success.

Everyone is encouraged to be there for this historic event. Please attend and bring a lawn chair with you if you do not want to stand. Everyone is invited to attend a light luncheon afterward at the 4-H Pavilion.
