Congress to blame for credit lapse
To the editor:
I am a retired Steelworker and am writing in response to the gentleman from Rayland who believes the Health Coverage Tax Credit is being canceled due to Obamacare – that is incorrect (“Tax credit concerns,” Nov. 24.)
The HCTC legislation is simply expiring because of inaction by Congress. The expiration date was in place before the enactment of Obamacare. I urge all who need the HCTC to contact their senators and representatives ASAP and demand their help with this issue.
Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and several others have a bill stalled in the Senate to reinstate the HCTC. Details of this bill can be read on thomas.gov.
Get involved, demand action.
