Thanks for helping children in hospital

To the editor:

Trooper Ed A. Weigand of the Ohio State Highway Patrol and I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took the time to remember all of the special kids in Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital this Christmas by participating in our toy drive. Because of the generosity of so many special people and despite the shortened Christmas holiday season, all expectations were remarkably exceeded.

We wish it was possible to thank everyone individually. While this is not possible, we would like to extend to each of you sincere gratitude not only from us, but from the entire staff of the hospital’s child life department. We can also assure all of you that the families of these children were very grateful.

We would like to extend a very appreciative thank you to Whiteside Chevrolet in St. Clairsville for donating the box truck used to deliver the toys. Without your assistance, it would have been difficult to make this happen.

Weigand and I would like to extend God’s blessing to each of you for keeping the true meaning of Christmas alive by remembering these brave and special children,

Dispatcher Diane L. Holubeck
