A night to remember

To the editor:

On behalf of Patricia Fletcher, I would like to thank everyone who made our first Jazzy Jeans and Jewels Fundraiser for the Jefferson County Fourth Street Health Center on Feb. 1 a huge success. First and foremost I want to thank a wonderful committee who helped organize an event that ran so smoothly you would have thought it was the third or fourth annual time. Thank you to Suzanne Brown, Chris Hyland, Anita Jackson, Holly Minch-Hick, Donna Minor, LeRoy Sharpe and Chris Sterling.

Thanks to all of the wonderful “chefs” who gave of their time, energy and talents: Dr. Tom Brown, Dr. John Hyland, Joe Ighnat, Jonathan Littlejohn, Mary Lynch, Dr. Pat Macedonia, Judy Manfred, Dr. Laura Meeks, Mayor Dom Mucci, Keith Murdock, Matt Parise, Todd Phillipson, the Rev. Clint Quillen, Jackie Quillen, John Rocchi, LeRoy Sharpe and 6th Ward Councilman Bob Villamagna.

Thank you also to our Jazzy Jeans judges Fran Carinci, Bryan Felmet, Phyllis Riccadonna and Rich Wilinski for choosing our eight beautiful and handsome contestants, counting the votes and announcing our winner.

A very special thank you goes out to Francis Hughes and Cheryl DeFrank for the most ingenious decorations; to Ross Ivkovich our disc jockey; Police Chief William McCafferty for watching over our vehicles and our participants; Larry “Spike” Sterling, our celebrity bartender; and Leslie Iccus from Legal Hair for sponsoring our jazzy jean contest.

We would also like to thank Janice Kiaski of the Herald-Star, who went above and beyond the call of duty to help spread the word about our event.

This event would not have been a success without all of the above, but we also needed the support we received from the community, so thank you to all who attended and we hope to see you next year.

Janet Sharpe
