Event helps arts at Catholic Central

To the editor:

On Feb. 22, Friends of the Fine Arts at Catholic Central High School sponsored a fundraiser at Froehlich’s Classic Corner featuring the music of CCHS graduate Teresa Kropka.

The evening was filled with phenomenal music in an intimate, cafe-like atmosphere. Also on hand to entertain during Kropka’s breaks were current CCHS students, whose musical talents exceeded expectations. The event was a great success and all who attended were treated to a showcase of what CCHS has to offer. The money raised will be used to provide costumes and props for the school’s upcoming theater production of “Tarzan the Stage Musical.”

The following day, the school presented its annual spring talent show at the Berkman Theater in Lanman Hall, featuring CCHS and Bishop John King Mussio Jr. High students. Each performer brought his or her own unique talents to the stage and wowed the audience with outstanding performances. The money raised from the talent show will be used for further renovations at Lanman Hall. Special thanks for the success of this exceptional weekend go out to Greg and Debbie Froehlich; Classic Corner staff; Bill and Lorrie Raymond; John and Debbie Luther; CCHS staff and administration; CCHS graduates Laura Mason and Sarah Marrow; current CCHS students Katie Engle, Molly Marrow, Rhiannon Rogers, Anna Luther and Katherine Moore; and Teresa Kropka, for making the day such an enjoyable event.

“Tarzan the Stage Musical” will be presented at the Berkman Theater in Lanman Hall at CCHS at 7:30 p.m. April 4 and 5 and at 3 p.m. April 6. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and $6 for seniors and children under 10 years. Information can be obtained by calling the school at (740) 264-5538. The entire community is invited to come and see the amazing talent the school has to offer, and to enjoy a family friendly production.
