Ban a win-win for health of all

To the Editor,

The Constitution and cancer: A Hancock County-wide ban on smoking with no exceptions is up for debate.

Where in the Constitution does it justify the spread of any known (and nicotine is a known toxic substance) poison to the public?

If one wants to defend smoking with “it’s my business,” that’s fine. But to infer it’s some kind of inherent constitutional freedom to do it with your neighbor’s face is nonsense.

All Ohio casinos are nonsmoking. Once the nonsmoking, no exceptions, ban is enacted, the experts will take notice – the gamblers will quit smoking before they quit gambling. It’s a win-win situation for all, healthwise.
