To the editor:
The believers of the Old Testament spoke of God’s mighty works. They remembered the miracles and the faithfulness of God.
Paul wrote, “I know in whom I believe.”
When realizing the need for God in our life, the heart searches for the one who created us and the amazing universe full of beauty and awe. It all came into existence when he spoke the word. (Psalms 33:69) It is all functioning in perfect time, in his time and control. (Hebrews 11)
What wonderful gifts he has given us. The night sky is the one that speaks to my heart. Truly, the heavens declare the glory of God. (Psalms 19) All this will be replaced with an even greater beauty when our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, returns for all those who know him and love him.” (2 Peter 3) Jesus said, “I will be with you always, even unto the end of the world.” (Matthew 28) “I will not leave you comfortless, I will come to you.” (John 14)
His word is true and forever settled in heaven (Psalms 119.) “The Lord is not one who can lie.” (Hebrews 6.) Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except by me.” (James 14)
We have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ the righteous. (1 John 2) One mediator between God and man, the lord Jesus Christ. (1 Timothy 2) Our high priest, who entered within the veil and broke down the middle wall of partition between us. (Ephesians 2) Through him we have access by one spirit to the father.
Get to know the one who died for you, the one who suffered such an agonizing death then rose again; the one who opened the pathway between God and man (Ephesians 2), making a way for a personal relationship with him; the one who left the 99 sheep to save the one who was lost.
Search his word. Call on his name. He is there. He hears the broken and contrite heart. Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you. (James 4)
He is the one who took our sins upon himself and casts them as far as the east is from the west (Psalms 103), who by his own blood entered once into the holy place, obtaining eternal redemption for us (Hebrews 9.) He has redeemed us to God by his blood. When we confess his sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins. (1 John 1)
Jesus said, “You must be born again. (James 3) Old things pass away and all things become new. (2 Corinthians 5)
The Holy Spirit will enable us to live this life. “You will know him for he will be with you and shall be in you.” “For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
