Tennis camps successful
To the Editor,
A huge thanks goes out to Mountaineer Racetrack and Resort who allowed Tri-State Tennis Association to hold the camps at their facility this summer.
The camps turned out to be a huge success. Camps were run by Tammi Brown and the Brown family. There were a total of 67 campers throughout June and July. Campers’ ages ranged from 8-17.
Students in attendance came from several of the surrounding school districts. There were students from Beaver Local, East Liverpool, Oak Glen and Brooke in attendance. Students were given instruction based on their individual levels and needs.
The goal of Tri-State Tennis Association is to promote and regenerate an interest in this lifelong sport. We have many families beginning to play with their children. It is great to see this happening.
The staff at the Fitness Center was extremely helpful and accommodating. These camps could not have been successful without the help of an entire support group of volunteers. These include Tom and Sharon Keller, The Spurlock Family, Vicki and Harry Blankenship, Greg Blake and Ami Robinson. Valley View Superette donated a shopping cart to hold tennis balls. Thanks to all who made these camps a success!
