Help needed for coal miners

To the Editor,

I think that 75 percent of people who live in the United States know who coal miners are and what hardships they have gone through to supply the United States with coal to generate electricity, to power the boilers at power plants and to heat homes. These miners usually worked around the clock to supply coal.

Working under ground in a dangerous job — many coal miners lost their lives trying to make a living and to supply coal to those who need it. Coal miners deserve a pension not only from their union, but from the government. When coal miners go under ground, they risk their lives and might not come back up. They are like servicemen and women — when they go to war, they could have the same results.

So, all they want is some help from the government. A solution would be a blessing for all coal miners.
