Diserio understands the working people

To the Editor,

I am supporting Phil Diserio for House of Delegates because he truly cares about the working men and women of the Northern Panhandle.

Phil was a working man himself. As a retired construction worker he knows the difficulties working people face on a daily basis. Whether you’re a mill worker, miner or construction worker, safety is an everyday battle and sometimes just coming home to your family in one piece is a challenge. After two years of attacks on working people that have seen safety rules that protected us for decades be repealed, we need a guy like Phil to represent us.

Everyone is someone’s mother, father, son or daughter, and losing someone you love in an industrial accident is devastating to our families and communities. These safety laws were put in place for a reason and we cannot condone the irresponsible legislation the Republican majority pushed though. We need someone who will fight for working people because he has seen first-hand the dangers of working for a living.

Whether we are a mile underground or walking a beam 300 feet in the air, the working men and women of this state put our lives on the line to keep the power on and keep our economy moving forward. Without the working people we wouldn’t have power, roads, or buildings, so please keep our safety in mind this November and vote for a working class blue collar guy like Phil Diserio so our interests can truly be represented in Charleston.
