Thankful for good influences

To the Editor,

Bob Gill…Bill Zanieski…Joe Farran…Guido Magnone. These names may not mean anything to you, but they did mean a lot to me.

Mr. Magnone drove me and my freinds from the neighborhood to a few Pirates games at Three Rivers Stadium. Mr. Gill and Mr. Zanieski taught me in high school. Never give up…try again…and if you didn’t know the answers, look them up. Of course portable cell phones and computers were unheard of in the 70s.

As for Mr. Farran, this gentleman took the time to cut my hair, from the time that I was 5 years old. Fifty-five years later, my last haircut was in April. And while he cut my hair, other patrons waiting would chat about daily happenings around the town…or the world.

I give thanks to these gentlemen, and others that I failed to mention, who were a part of my life. I am so grateful. Thank you.
