To the Editor,

It seems that our petition of 1,288 signatures did not satisfy the City Council members at the May Weirton City Council meeting…to enable the back-of-the-truck sanitation/recycle workers be granted full time status (even though they work 40 hours per week)…with all the benefits thereof (health insurance, life insurance, retirement plan).

The councilmen now want to be personally contacted by the constituents in their wards expressing their desire for the gentlemen to get full benefits…even if that household may be required to pay an extra $4 on their city utilities bill.

This phone call to your councilman may be even more important than the original petition.

Do the right thing!
