All Saints offers thanks

To the Editor,

The congregation of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church of Weirton extends sincerest thanks and deep appreciation to its patrons from Weirton and surrounding communities in the Tri-State for making the 31st Weirton Greek Festival 2018 a resounding success exceeding our expectations.

Thanks to your patronage, our church can continue with its ministries assisting organizations and those in need. Your community support was amazing and we are humbled and honored that so many came to enjoy our gourmet food, pastries, ethnic dance and hospitality.

A special thank you to Michael Smith and his young ladies from Brooke Place who worked so diligently for three long days clearing tables and trays. Those young ladies were amazing and we thank them for their conscientiousness and work ethic.

We wish to thank our West Street neighbors for their patience and use of their parking lots and to the City of Weirton Police and Maintenance Department for their support and assistance in dealing with the heavy volume of traffic and water issues.

All Saints is pleased to have provided the Table of Hope with gourmet food that fed 40 residents the day following the festival and we also donated the remaining fresh vegetables to the Community Bread basket for distribution to local residents.

As is our tradition, All Saints will select two local charitable organizations and make a generous donation to each as part of our continuing ministry to help support their goals of community assistance.

The Greek word “Philoxenia” means “enter a stranger and leave as a friend.” All Saints is honored to have so many friends like you.

Thank you very much Weirton, or as we say in Greek “Efharisto Poli”!
