Pittsburgh's Solar Friend and Pirate Rage
January 27, 2009 - Print to web Print to Web
The power of the sun will be in Pittsburgh's hand in the near future. Solar energy is being looked at in helping power Pittsburgh to cut costs of powering the Stadiums, City Buildings and possibly help lower heating and electricity costs in the surrounding area. While it is snowing outside still, it is never to early to look at the possibilities of harnessing the sun's power could do for a city. Who knows it may even be possible that one day Solar could help forge steel and cut down the pollution that the Ohio Valley is pushing out. And it isn't like it is going to cost money either. The funding for this project is a government grant, so why not try and figure out a better way of doing things, it's not like it couldn't hurt anything.
On a side note...Why is management more concerned with showing off new uniforms rather than signing quality players (without intent to trade them). If you don't have any quality players, why would you even bother trying to sell a jersey. And if they do get good, they don't stay here for long because the Pirates will just say that they need to do some good ol fashion rebuilding to get the job done, even though they had the leagues best...BEST outfield combo in Jason Bay (age 30 now in Boston) and Xavier Nady (also 30 but with the Yanks) with Nate McClouth (27 stuck with the Buccos until he gets 5 mil a year). Why would you need to rebuild when your best players are in their prime. If you wanted to sell jersey's instead of win, you should have kept these players. You should have kept them and built around them and instead got some pitching to go with what was one of the best offenses until you traded away Nady and Bay. Now you want to trade away Jack Wilson and Freddy Sanchez.... who do we have to replace them.
Year 17 starts in April! yaaaaaa I guess.....
