Biscotti & Gourmet Coffee

April 15, 2009 - Summer Wallace-Minger

Frankly, I am only doing this blog because I wanted a coffee break, and I figured I ought to do something work-related while I sucked it down.

Nonni's Biscotti. The one that says "decadent" on the box. It's chocolate, with little pieces of almond and the bottom has a layer of chocolate. I'm making myself write a complete sentence between dunks.

I think the coffee is Starbucks. Maybe. I didn't make it today; Angelina did. I walked in this morning and it smelled really good. A little Italian sweet creme in there, and you can see why I'm blogging.  

I am listening to the little fountain on my desk. It used to be in Sue's office, but she left. I also scavenaged her reed diffuser. That's the way we roll at the DT. If you leave, and you leave your stuff behind, it's ours.

So far, as different coworkers have left, I have scavenged three tables, one chair, a white board, a filing cabinet and a coat rack. And various odds and ends.

I use it all to furnish my little corner of the newsroom. I like being in the corner; no one can see me from the front counter. It's like I'm not even here. No one else has a desk on this side of the newsroom, so, by default, this whole side is mine.

There are some partitions in the back. I wonder if Alex would be mad if I drug them out here and built some walls between myself and the coworkers.

Well, coffee's gone.
