Thanks for the memories

August 27, 2010 - Angelina Dickson

Yesterday after the conclusion of my bible study session with my uncle and best friend John, I got a phone call from my friend Matt Elliott who needed a favor.

So, I asked him what this favor was to which he answered he needed me to help him write up his resume and take a headshot for him. He wants to try out for the movie being shot in Weirton. Being the nice person I strive to be, I agreed.

I go over to his house and he's writing up all his resume stuff for me and then we get to the part where I'm going to take his picture. I notice he gave himself a little bit of razor burn and told him he should put some moisturizing lotion on it and we'd just cover it up with make-up. As he is putting on the lotion, I noticed he missed a great deal of hair on his face as well and couldn't help laughing about it.

Mind you, he is a diabetic and nearly blind so I can't really blame him for simply being sloppy at shaving or even lazy. When you can't see, you can't see.

Seeing as how he missed so much the first time, I took him in the bathroom and shaved his face for him. He didn't have any shaving cream of his own or any handsoap so I had to use is his girlfriend's Skintimate leg shaving cream on his face. I had to constantly tell him not to move his face because I have never shaved someone's face and was terrified of cutting him.

"I hope I don't have an allergic reaction to the lotion or the shaving cream," he kept repeating over and over. I reassured him he would be fine and he was.

During this process, there was much laughter about having to use female shaving cream, coughing and getting it all over the place and finishing up with putting concealer on his face.

Good times.
