| | Phantom of the OperaAugust 28, 2010 - Angelina DicksonFriday night, Summer and I went to see the Phantom of the Opera at the Benedum. It was AMAZING! I couldn't even say how many times I was dripping with tears because it was so beautiful. HOWEVER, the real adventure began in Weirton. We decided at the beginning of the week that we wanted to leave around 6:30 p.m. for the 8 p.m. show just to give us some comfort room in case of traffic and whatnot. So, Robert (Summer's husband) arrived at their home later than expected which meant that we were going to be leaving later than expected. We get to Pittsburgh in plenty of time only to discover that Liberty Ave. is closed due to construction or whatever they are doing. Mind you, I don't know my way around Pittsburgh. I attempted to follow the detour and Summer's directions, which entail "go there" as she motions her arms one way or the other and maybe a little pointing action at a street where there are several lanes instead of saying "left lane, right lane, turn left at the next intersection..." etc. After getting a little lost, I noticed we were in the Strip. I get turned around and we end up going back on the detour and getting to the parking garage with mere minutes to spare. We walk in and luckily there was a five-minute delay in the show or we wouldn't have been allowed in. I'll save the adventure of the trip home for another blog.
