Curbs are still high!
Mon, December 1, 2008 @ 5:10PM
The Penco Road curbs are still too high, if anyone who can change this actually cares. The lanes are narrow and the curbs are high, which can produce accidents, I'm sure, as elderly and novice drivers make their way down the roadway and perhaps go a little off course. I just don't want to be the one traveling in the opposite direction when that happens; but, unfortunately, someone will be there and, much to their shock and horror, may be involved in a collision, if not a head-on one. The turning lane is a great idea, but the area still needs to be upgraded, I think, in order for it to be safe, because drivers are forced to employ extreme caution on Penco while driving in the far right-hand lanes. Time will tell, though, and I hope I am very wrong in my thoughts about this situation. What say you?

XM, No Static At All
Fri, September 5, 2008 @ 1:10PM
It's back. It's in my car. And I can't get enough of it. It's my XM Radio, which I haven't used in my car for nearly a year. It used to have a home in Norman Thunderbaum, my former Thunderbird, but I never could bring myself to mount it in The Enrico Cruiser, my late father's PT. I guess it was OK to put glue on my brother's old T-Bird's dash, but not on my dad's car. But now, thanks to the discovery of an industrial suction-cup mounting thing and the help of my son, The Drummer, who knows how to hide wiring, my XM is back on the road. Just in time to listen to the POTUS all-president, all-the-time channel during the conventions. Steely Dan may have sung "FM" with the lyric "no static at all," but I like to think of the modern version as "XM, no junk I don't want to hear at all." Ahhh. And merging with Sirius can only give me a bunch more selections, right? Or will it simply require more equipment purchases?

Flashing lights
Mon, November 24, 2008 @ 8:39AM
Flashing lights usually is bad news. The flashing lights I am talking about do not involve a man in a uniform. I am talking about Christmas lights. This weekend I saw a lot of people pushing through the cold temperature to hang up Christmas lights. I like to get out in the car and drive around looking at every ones Xmas display. I usually wait until a week before Christmas because then you know that anyone that plans on decorating will have their act together by then. I know some or maybe a lot of people don't like this time of year. Is it the spending that is involved, maybe the weather outside, maybe just the busy stores and maybe it is the sound of that bell of the Salvation Army? Me on the other hand enjoy these things. I like to spend on others, I like that bell sound, I like snow, I like crowded stores. I don't like living in a ghost town and sometimes this time of years is the only time a lot of area stores get real business. I just hope that after this Christmas that all our bu
