Blessings during the snow storm
To the Editor, During the recent snowstorm and power outage, I woke up Sunday morning to a temperature of 38 degrees in my house, brrr. After being up for two hours, my toes began to feel numb, and, being a diabetic, I knew I was in trouble and, to make matters worse, my phone went “haywire.” I could hear them, but they couldn’t hear me when it rang. When my daughter called, she kept talking and I began to “tap” the phone, and she said, “Mom, if you can hear me, tap once,” and I did. Then she started asking me questions with one tap for “yes,” and two taps for “no.” It worked, but I couldn’t tell her about my toes. My brother lives up behind me, so I went out on my porch and yelled for them, and they heard me and came out on the porch. I told them to call my son Rick and tell him about my toes. They did, and soon, I got a call from my daughter, who informed me to stay calm, that my daughter-in-law, Dawn, and her son Travis were on their way to help.
