What an ignorant article. While I agree that we can't blame a victim, & in this case absolutely do not blame the victim. Ms. Williams comment is not blaming the victim, & is not poor thought process. It is something to prevent this violence. It's just like saying that while in a gang & drug infested neighborhood, a person gets mugged, or standing in the road, getting hit by a car, then criticizing a one for commenting being in that neighborhood unnecessarily or standing in the road is a bad idea and should be avoided if they don't want hit by a car. It is a factual statement & I'm sure that was learned by the victims, that being so drunk they can't function is something to try and avoid because there are bad people in the world. it is NOT a criticism of the Victim or blame on the Victim, but simply good advice. its the reader, or in this case, the writers interpretation of Ms. Williams comments that adds the blame part. This newspaper really needs some good intel
