Police continue investigation into theft at Williams

Weirton Police detectives continue their investigation into the theft of golf equipment from Williams Country Club Friday morning.
According to Weirton Detective Gerard Spencer, the investigation into the incident is ongoing, but police do have some possible leads on suspects with interviews set to collect additional information.
The incident took place between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m. Friday, when individuals entered the storage area at the country club. Police believe either two or three people were involved.
Spencer said the suspects are believed to have taken between nine and 20 golf bags, all of which belonged to club members, as well as a golf cart. The cart reportedly was found wrecked in a ravine near the country club, and officers have recovered nine of the golf bags.
