Weirton Area Chamber hosts third 'Leads to Success Breakfast'October 3, 2008 - By CRAIG HOWELL, City editorLocal businessmen and women gathered at the Eat 'n Park in Weirton Thursday morning for a chance to meet and learn more about each other. The Weirton Area Chamber of Commerce held its third "Leads to Success Breakfast" at the restaurant located on Three Springs Drive. The breakfast gives local business representatives the opportunity to make some new contacts and discuss what they do. This was the third Leads to Success Breakfast held by the Chamber, and the second to be held at Eat 'n Park. "It's another opportunity to network," Chamber President Brenda Mull said. As part of the program, those in attendance get to have breakfast while meeting and talking with other business representatives from the area. They then are asked to take turns standing up and giving a presentation on their business and what they have to offer customers. The idea for the program came to the chamber from John Kirlangitis, who chairs the chamber's membership committee, and his wife Amy, who had attended similar events in Pittsburgh. The first Leads to Success Breakfast was held in August, and, according to chamber officials, had such a positive response that they decided to continue to program, with each event held at a different location. The breakfast is the latest program in the chamber's efforts to provide networking opportunities to it members through programs such as Business After Hours.
