New details in heroin case released

New information is being released by the Weirton Police Department concerning a group of arrests earlier this week in connection with heroin distribution.

The Weirton Police Department Street Crimes Unit apprehended four local residents Tuesday on heroin charges during an ongoing undercover drug investigation.

Ray Cunningham, 31, of New Cumberland was charged with transporting heroin into the state and conspiracy to possess heroin with the intent to deliver.

Amber Nicole McGrogan, 29, of Weirton was charged with conspiracy to transport heroin into the state.

Richard Truax, 36, of Weirton was charged with conspiracy to transport heroin into the state and conspiracy to possess heroin with the intent to deliver.

Brianne Marie Ressinger, 20, from Weirton was charged with possession with the intent to deliver and conspiracy to transport heroin into the state.

According to reports, officers had information the four individuals were on their way to Weirton from an area in Pennsylvania with heroin.

Officers from the Street Crimes Unit and Patrol Division initiated a traffic stop on Pennsylvania Avenue in the city and took all four into custody said police officials.

Police officials stated all four subjects were arraigned by Magistrate Michael Powell from Hancock County.

Bond was set at $25,000 for each charge.
