Pastri entertains Three Score Seniors
Members of the Three Score Senior Club met on May 28 at Undo's in the Holiday Inn-Weirton. Women were presented a carnation in honor of Mother's Day.
Following dinner, Vice-President Evelyn Buckley introduced Rick Pastri, who entertained the group with several selections including: "Once in Awhile," "Spanish Eyes," "New York, New York," an Americana medley, and "Country Roads."
Next months entertainment will be "Salt and Pepper," a barbershop quartet.
Reports were given by Secretary Pat Deletka and Treasurer Sondra Weigel, which was approved and filed for audit.
In the absence of Sunshine Chairperson Winnie Kemp. Marlene Hare announced that get-well cards were sent to Ann Yuhas, Edna Harrison, Steve Corzi, Helen Marris, John Rateau, George Rohal, Patty Holt, Mary Souchak and Lois Rice.
Sympathy cards were sent to Virginia Richards on the loss of her husband, a member and to Wanda Tomasovich on the loss of her grandson. A?moment of silence was held. Thank-you cards were read from Whitey Pawlowski and Alice Cook.
Birthdays were celebrated by Chuck Elliott, John Peterson and Betty Gianni. Members sang "Happy Birthday" and then "Happy Anniversary" to Russ and Rita Wickham, 56 years, and Betty Gianni, 53 years.
Historian Edna Harrison mingled and snapped photographs of members.
Reservation Chair Vivian Weigel announced 130 members in attendance and one guest, Dick Bailey. The menu for June will be house salad, ham loaf, baked cod, scalloped potatoes, succotash and strawberry pie.
House Chairperson Helen Beaumont decorated with hanging baskets of flowers which were given as prizes. Betty Virtue and Marlene Hare presented them to Billie Dietz, Jim Hare, Boyd Barker, Wilma Mentzer and Claire French.
Hospitality Chairperson Jim Hare presented monetary prizes to Virginia Marston, Jack Cummings, Betty Morgan, Nancy Smurda and Joan Gallagher.
Betty Virtue presented the free dinners, complements of Undo's, to Smurda and Betty Mentzer.
Jack Cummings awarded the 50/25/25 to Frank Fazio and Viola Blanc. Social Chairperson Gino Cercone invited all to stay and play bingo.
Beaumont fave the benediction and Veltri adjourned the meeting. She invited members to attend the Sunday meeting honoring fathers.
