Seniors entertained by 'Salt & Pepper'
Three Score Senior Club members held their June meeting at the Holiday Inn-Weirton.
President "Cookie"?Veltri presided and welcomed all. Russell Wickham gave the invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of "God Bless America" followed.
Men were presented gifts for Father's Day.
Veltri introduced "Salt &?Pepper," a barbershop quartet from Wheeling. They sang, "Down by the Riverside," "Coney Island Baby," "Shine on Harvest Moon," "Blue Velvet," and many more.
Next month's entertainment will be "Vinyl," four singers from Chester singing "oldies."
Reports were given by Secretary Pat Deletka and Treasurer Sondra Weigel.
Veltri announced get-well cards were sent to Terry McColloch, John Rateau, Lee Roy Edwards and Enola Romanelli; no sympathy cards were sent.
Those celebrating birthdays in June were Betty Virtue, Steve Korzi, Albert Daugherty, Raymond Fox, Myrtle Flowers and Josie Elliott. The group sang, "Happy Birthday."
"Happy Anniversary" was sung to Raymond and Ruth Fox, 60 years; Steve and Pauline Korzi, 59 years; and Jim and Marlene Hare, 44 years.
Reservation Chair Vivian Weigel announced 127 members and 6 guests in attendance. Guests were Dick Bailey, Rosalind DiCocco, Sandra Gilkey, Harold Dean Hodges, and Bob and Diana Moulds.
The menu for July will be salad, stuffed pork chops, cabbage rolls, mashed potatoes, baby carrots and sherbet.
Hospitality Chair Jim Hare presented cash prizes to Wanda Tomasovich, Josie Elliott, Mildred Perloski, Loretta Reynolds and John Pandelios. Two free Undo's dinners were won by Mary Hvizdak and Paul Miller. Jack Cummings awarded the 50/25/25 to Pauline Korzi and Martha Garan. Special prizes were awarded to Betty Potts, Mary Gubetti, Marlene Hare, Vivian Weigel, Minerva Gutwald and Kathleen Mercer.
The July 23 meeting will be a luau, so members should dress appropriately.
Wickham gave the benediction and and the meeting was adjourned.
