19 indicted by Brooke grand jury

WELLSBURG - A Brooke County grand jury on Monday returned indictments against 19 people, many of them involving domestic violence or the sale of illegal drugs.

Presided by 1st Judicial Circuit Court Judge Ronald Wilson, the grand jury indicted the following:

David Michael Bennett, 52, of 815 Market St., Steubenville, counts of second-degree sexual assault, battery and first-degree sexual abuse for allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with a woman known to him without her consent in June 1999 and grabbing her and making contact with her of a sexual nature on Oct. 4.

Danny A. Corso, 19, of 1034 Highland St., Follansbee, four counts of child abuse resulting in injury. According to the indictment, Corso struck a boy in his custody on four occasions between spring 2008 and December.

Ricky McGee Jr., 26, of Sandusky, Ohio, counts of burglary and malicious assault for allegedly breaking into a home at Woodcrest Mobile Manor in Follansbee and injuring a woman there on Oct. 29.

James Wesley Cain, 33, of 1036 Jefferson St., Wintersville, counts of third-offense domestic violence and unlawful assault for allegedly grabbing and striking a woman known to him on Jan. 10.

Jerry Forrester, 37, of 339 Orr St., Weirton, counts of malicious assault and third-offense domestic violence, for allegedly stabbing a man known to him with a tool on Dec. 6.

Wesley Cross, 28, of 820 Fowlers Hill Road, Wellsburg, counts of possession of a controlled substance, hydrocodone, with intent to deliver and delivering it.

John Barnhart Jr., 34, of 120 Kent Way, Weirton, two counts of using an access device, specifically a credit card, to commit fraud.

Thomas J. Goff, 33, of RD 1, Colliers, one count of breaking and entering for allegedly breaking into a storage unit in Wellsburg and stealing several handguns and rifles, and delivery of a controlled substance, heroin.

Christopher S. Paris, 28, of 619 Allegheny St., Follansbee, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, Percocet, with intent to deliver and two counts of delivering it.

Eugene H. Harrison, 46, of Weirton, one count of possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, with intent to deliver and two counts of delivering it.

Brooks Hurt, 34, of Apartment B, 319 Lincoln Ave., Mingo Junction, one count of delivering a controlled substance, marijuana; and two counts of possession of it and another controlled substance, Xanax, with intent to deliver.

Melvin R. Hayes, 38, of 56 Pontiac Road, Wellsburg, counts of possession of a stolen vehicle, disposing of it in another state and failure to appear for allegedly selling a utility vehicle he knew to have been stolen in Pennsylvania and failing to make a court appearance when he had been released on bail.

Douglas E. Swisher, 49, of 3223 Commercial Ave., Mingo Junction, one count of driving while suspended for third-offense driving under the influence.

Andrew J. Orbovich, 49, of 3536 Lindberg Way, Weirton, one count of third-offense driving under the influence.

Randy Eugene Forrester, 43, of 339 Orr St., Weirton, one count of failure to register as a sex offender.

Keith Allen Francis, 27, of RD 1, Wellsburg, one count of failure to register as a sex offender.

William Cutlip, 55, of 3725 Orchard St., Weirton, one count of delivery of a controlled substance, methadone.
