EGCC offers courses

Eastern Gateway Community College will offer a pharmacy technician program this spring.

The 50-hour program runs from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from March 23 to May 11.

Cost of the class is $999, which includes textbooks.

The course is designed to prepare students to enter the pharmacy field and take a required Ohio-approved competency exam. Technicians work in hospitals, home infusion pharmacies, community pharmacies and other health care settings, working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

EGCC's Community Outreach Department is offering several special interests classes for adults this spring.

Evening courses beginning throughout March and April and include beginning quilting, Pysanky, knitting, crochet, digital photography, basic home electricity, investing, retirement planning, genealogy, world culture, economics, Italian and sign language.
