CHUPA, John, 87, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010.
He was born Aug. 29, 1922, in Avella, Pa., a son of the late George Chupa and Anna (Ihnatko) Chupa Gruesu.
John formerly worked for Hancock County Schools as a custodian for Weir High School. He retired in 1990 and attended New Cumberland Christian Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, George, Anthony, Michael, Charles and Billy Chupa, and three sisters, Anna Chupa, Helen McConaghy and Anna Chupa.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtle Moore Chupa at home; a brother, Joseph (Bernice) Gruesu of Pennsylvania; two sisters, Mary (George) Cherry of Pennsylvania and Julie Manfra of New York; and also many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the New Cumberland Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, with Minister Rick Tinsky officiating.
The interment will follow at New Cumberland Cemetery, WV.
