KISHA, Cecilia "Smitty", 91, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 1, 2010, in Gables Care Center in Hopedale, Ohio.
She was born May 13, 1919, in Mingo Junction, a daughter of the late George and Milica (Visnich) Zatezalo.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Kisha on February 12, 2009; a brother, Samuel Zatezalo and two sisters, Mary Chichick and Ann Gilmore.
Smitty retired in 1988 after 15 years as a manager in the jewelry department at Kauffmans. She was a member of St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Mingo where she was also a member of the Sisterhood of St. Andrew. She was a member of the KSS Club at the Serbian Church in Steubenville; the Shanagu Senior Club and the Mingo Senior Citizens Club.
Surviving are a son, David Kisha of Milford, Ohio; a daughter, Christine "Tina" McBean of Cleveland Heights, Ohio; and two grandchildren, Nathaniel "Nate" McBean and Elizabeth "Liz" McBean.
Friends will be received on Monday from 7-9 and Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Wheeler Funeral Home, 101 Longview Ave., Mingo. On Wednesday Smitty will lay in state at the St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Mingo from 10 a.m. until the time of her funeral services at 11 a.m., with Rev. Fr. John Kopcha, officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
There will be a Panahida Service on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
