NEW CUMBERLAND - A New Cumberland man has died following a motorcycle accident in Hancock County Tuesday afternoon.

New Cumberland Ambulance Service responded with the Hancock County Sheriff's Department to the accident near the intersection of Hardins Run Road and Wylie Ridge.

Hancock County Chief Deputy Todd Murray stated emergency responders were notified of a motor vehicle accident around 3:30 p.m. just outside New Cumberland involving Delbert Herrn and John A. Rock of New Cumberland.

Greg Moore, a paramedic with New Cumberland Ambulance Service, stated ambulance and fire department crews were called to the scene of the accident. He said the patient was taken to a landing zone to meet a Stat MedEvac helicopter which then transported Rock to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Murray confirmed Rock died during transport.

"The accident is still under investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff's Office," he said.

Murray said Rock, who was driving a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was traveling east toward Pennsylvania when Herrn, also of New Cumberland, turned onto Wylie Ridge from Hardins Run Road in his 1969 truck.
