NEW CUMBERLAND - The second annual Fall River Fest along River Avenue in New Cumberland will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Opening ceremonies are at 10 a.m. Saturday followed by music by Out of the Blue at 11 a.m.
Children's entertainment by clowns Professor Thymble and Sunshyne will begin at 1:30 p.m.
Other entertainment throughout the day will be performances by students of Michele's Dance Studio at 2:30 p.m., music by Adrian Niles at 4 p.m., and the headline band, Legend, sponsored by the Top of West Virginia Convention and Visitors Bureau, at 6:30 p.m.
Legend is an R&B oldies band performing regularly at Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack and Resort. The group has performed at numerous fairs and festivals, and at the Allegheny Club at Three Rivers Stadium.
Fireworks will begin at 8 p.m.
Tom Zielinsky will start up the Sunday events with a concert. The Hancock County communications director, making news in recent weeks with the release of his book on Weirton Steel, will offer a number of selections on the accordion.
The second annual boat parade will kick off at 1:30 p.m., followed by music by the Salt and Pepper Barbershop Quartet at 2 p.m.
All in Jest jugglers will be strolling along River Avenue from 2-3 p.m. Sunday.
The New Cumberland Parade and Festival Committee will be selling River Fest 2010 T-shirts, and is still accepting food and craft vendors. For more information, call the committee at (304) 564-3215.
