WEIRTON - Following the arrests of three local men on drug charges, Child Protective Services is investigating after a 7-month-old infant was found living at the View Street apartment where the arrests were made.

The Weirton Police Department's Street Crimes Unit arrested Anthony L. Taylor, 31; Ryan A. Metz, 28; and 21-year-old Robert Chek, all of Weirton, after a tip led officers to the residence late Friday into Saturday morning.

He said upon further investigation, police discovered the infant was present during the illegal activities. He added police expect to file charges of child neglect creating substantial risk of bodily injury.

Taylor is facing charges of delivering marijuana, conspiracy to deliver and possession with intent to deliver marijuana and is being held at the Northern Regional Jail on $30,000 bond.

"The delivery took place at the residence where we found 20 grams of marijuana on Taylor," Grishkevich said.

Metz is charged with conspiracy to deliver marijuana and remained at the Northern Regional Jail on Monday on $10,000 bond.

Chek is charged with possession of a controlled substance and was released on personal recognizance, Grishkevich said.
