BETHANY - Bethany College's Commencement Hall was the setting for the May 22 wedding of Mandy Rae Merico and Joel Conrad Banks Jr. The 4:15 p.m. ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Jim Forbes.
Carrying an arm bouquet of crimson orchids, the bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Nick Merico of Germantown, Md.
The bride is the daughter of the late Michael Merico and April Merico of Weirton.

The groom is the son of Joel and Joyce Banks Sr. of Steubenville.
Jennifer Ohalek served as maid of honor, and Heather Knobbe was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Alisha, Kathryn and Gina Merico.
Justin Banks served as the best man, and Alan Morabeto, James Banks, Joshua Banks and Jeremy Banks were groomsmen. Shea McCoy was the flower girl and Riley Knollinger, ring bearer.
The reception was held at Froehlich's Classic Corner in Steubenville. The newlyweds are planning a fall honeymoon.
The bride is a graduate of Weir High School and Eastern Gateway Community College with an associate degree in general studies. She also attended Bethany College and plans to finish her bachelor's degree in philosophy this fall.
The groom is a graduate of Steubenville High School and is employed at WTOV-TV as the assistant operations manager.
They reside in Steubenville.
