Getting ready

March 7, 2011
Weirton Daily Times
Members of the Herald-Star and The Weirton Daily Times mailroom staff worked early today filling goodie bags for the Taste of Home Cooking School set for Tuesday at the Serbian American Cultural Center. Each person who attends the cooking school will receive one of the bags. Tickets are still available for the event. Michael Barna, a culinary specialist with “Taste of Home” will make his first trip to the area and offer participants more than 10 recipes ranging from breakfast to dessert during the show. Local merchants as well as national sponsors provide cooking-related items, coupons, candy and more for each of the goodie bags, according to the newspapers inside sales supervisor Maggie McGinnis. The doors for the center will open at 4 p.m. with the school getting under way at 6:30 p.m. -- Jess Looman
