PILUTTI, Aldo O., age 90, Of Irondale, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the home of his son James L. Pilutti in Irondale (New Somerset), Ohio.
He was born Oct. 6, 1920, in Rivignano, Italy the son of the late John and Louise Muzzin Pilutti.
Aldo was a member of the Grant Hill Presbyterian Church PC (USA). He was a member, secretary for 37 years of the Jenkins Masonic Lodge 471 F & AM in Irondale, Ohio. He was also the only Masonic Lodge Secretary Emeritus in Ohio. He had dual membership in the Negley Masonic Lodge 565 and memberships in the Toronto Order of Eastern Star Chapter 215, the Scottish Rite Masons Valley of Steubenville, the Stanton Ruritan Club and the Hammondsville American Legion Post 742.
He was a longtime member and committee member of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 49 of Irondale, Ohio where he received a Certificate of Merit Award from the Ft. Steuben Council and had served as a Sunday school superintendent for many years.
Aldo was a U.S. Army Technical Sergeant veteran during W.W.II having served his country in the Rhineland area in central Europe having received the EAME Theatre Ribbon with two Bronze Stars.
He is retired from the former Paisley Brothers Grocery Store in Irondale.
Aldo was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Alice C. Milliken Pilutti who passed away Aug. 30, 2008, and whom he married March 12, 1941 and a grandson James Michael Pilutti who passed away in 1998.
His survivors are sons, Rev. John A. (Judith) Pilutti of Raleigh, North Carolina, James L. (Suellen) Pilutti of Irondale, Ohio; grandchildren Connie Pilutti of Irondale, Ohio, John B. (Andie) Pilutti of Dublin, Ohio, Michael (Stacy) Pilutti of Columbus, Ohio, Peter Anderson of Raleigh, North Carolina and Paula Pilutti and Doug of New York; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary McGowan of Marietta, Ohio; brothers, Aldechi Pilutti of Mississippi and Albert (Rita) Pilutti of Beaver Creek, Ohio.
Friends and family will gather for visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Clarke Funeral Home 302 Main St., Toronto (740) 537-1234 or (800) 588-1446. A Masonic service will be held 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home for Aldo.
A celebration service of Aldo's life will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday July 17 at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Hoobler officiating. Burial will follow at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery. There will be full military honors by the Toronto American Legion at the cemetery in honor of Aldo's service to his country.
