VerStraten — Merrin

RICHMOND - Flora VerStraten and Edward "Buddy" Merrin of Richmond were married on Oct. 2 at the Hickory Lodge in Mingo Junction.

The groom wore a kilt, and the bride wore a long white chiffon medieval gown. The ceremony was conducted by Bishop James Harlan from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The best man was Gary Camptella of Steubenville. The bride was given away by her son, Air Force Maj. Joseph H. VerStraten Jr., of Dayton. The bride's daughter, Rachel Freeland of Toronto, was the matron of honor. Sophia VerStraten, granddaughter of the bride, was the flower girl followed by granddaughters/bridesmaids, Samantha, Sabrina, Sierra VerStraten and Victoria and Isabelle Freeland.
