DUBUS, John T., 63, of Steubenville died Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at home.
He was born Dec. 27, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pa. He is the son of the late Frank Dubus and Bertha Stockus Dubus Arbachiukas.
John was the director of special education at East Liverpool City Schools and was owner /operator of the former Taste of the Strip in Weirton. He received his master's degree in psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.
In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his stepfather, Stanley Arbachiukas.
Surviving are his wife, Maura Mappin Dubus, whom he married Nov. 14, 1987; a son, Jesse Dubus of San Francisco, Calif.; nephew Casey Mappin; nieces Alana Mappin and Ashley (Gary) Mappin-Sopcheck, all of Coral Springs, Fla.; brothers-in-law Merle Mappin of Coral Springs, Fla., and Richard (Cynthia) Mappin of Wyomissing, Pa.; and his beloved dog "Lady."
John was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan and was a gourmet cook.
Calling hours are Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of a celebration of life service at 6 p.m. at the Mosti Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, 4435 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville.
